Conditions of use

Terms of use

Routavio is an independent project that presents multimodal route alternatives.

It sells no tickets, creates no bookings and processes no payments. When you are sent on to a third-party provider, booking and payment happen directly between you and that provider.

01

What the service covers

Routavio is a route planning and comparison tool that weighs flight, train, bus and ferry options within a single journey.

Routavio sells no tickets, reserves no seats, processes no payments and is not a party to the contract between you and the transport provider. Booking rules, cancellations and refunds are governed by that provider's own terms.

02

Prices and times

The prices shown are there for comparison and can change.

Flight prices in particular can be estimates, because they may be produced from live or cached third-party data. The final fare and availability are confirmed by the provider.

Part of the rail and public transport information comes from timetable and stop data published in GTFS format by operators or open data sources. Timetables and connections can be changed by the sources they come from.

03

Your account

An account is not required; search works in full without one. If you open one, you have to give a real email address that belongs to you and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You should not open one if you are under 18. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account settings: deletion cannot be undone, and the records attached to it go with it.

04

Acceptable use

Automated scraping, floods of bulk requests, working around rate limits, harvesting results and republishing them in another product, circumventing security measures and trying to get into someone else's account are not acceptable. Traffic like that can be blocked and the account behind it can be closed. If you need bulk data for academic or journalistic work, all you have to do is write.

05

Outbound links

Some links take you to the sites of independent third-party providers.

Bookings, payments and anything else done on those sites are governed by that provider's own terms. Route ranking is not affected by these links.

06

Rights and content

The original site design, the copy and the project code created within Routavio belong to their respective rights holders. Third-party timetables, departures, data, trademarks and images remain with their own owners and under their own licences.

Linking to the pages is free; copying the content and republishing it on another site is not.

07

If something goes wrong

There can be no undertaking that the information shown is accurate, complete and always available: the data comes from operators and third-party providers, and it can change during the day. A missed transfer or a timetable that has changed is not within Routavio's control; the contract for that journey is between you and the carrier. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this text.

08

Leaving

An account that breaks the rules above or harms other people can be suspended or closed; wherever it is possible, the reason is written out. You can also delete your account from your account settings without giving any reason.

09

Changes

These terms can change. When they do, the date at the bottom is updated, and for a substantive change account holders are informed by email.

10

Which country's rules apply

Routavio is run from Turkey, so Turkish law applies to this text. This clause does not mean you give up the protection your own country gives you as a consumer, or your ability to pursue a claim there.

Questions

If anything in this text is unclear, you can write: [email protected]. What we do with your data lives on its own page: the privacy policy.
